WCB online event: the python and the hamster – the future of healthcare in the UK

Last month we hosted an event on soil fertility and the future of food, inspired by Robert Golden’s important film – This Good Earth.

This month we are turning the spotlight, very appropriately, onto that hottest of topics: the future of healthcare in the UK.

In the wake of the sale of GP practices to a US healthcare provider, privatisation of test and trace, the NHS pay ‘award’, the post-Brexit pressures to open up the NHS further to privatisation and the words of Sir John Major about the NHS being about as safe with this government as a hamster with a hungry python, we are getting people together to talk about where healthcare is headed and what we can do to influence/alter the direction of travel.

We will be joined by, amongst others, Dr Sarah Wollaston, former MP for Totnes and erstwhile Chair of the Health Select Committee, and Helen Beetham, researcher, writer and campaigner with Save our Hospital Services (SOHS). The evening will take the form of an introductory talk and then focus on attendees’ questions and contributions.

The event is free to attend.

We look forward to ‘seeing’ you!
